A review product post is about reviewing a product and then writing the experience of using the product. With review product posts, the writer will get paid when writing a review post about a specific product (of another company who is selling the product or is the actual manufacturer of the product). The actual article you have written doesn’t necessarily have to be published on your blog, but on another blogging platform, or on the company’s official blog. It depends on the initial arrangement of the project. What about affiliate marketing? With a typical affiliate program, you will most likely also end up writing a product review post for a specific product that another company wants to sell. But you will only get paid when someone actually have a confirmed purchase of the product that has come through your affiliate link (with your affiliate ID). The difference (with affiliate marketing) is that because you will only be paid for someone’s actions, you will need to actually get visitors to come to your website, click the affiliate link, and buy the product. With affiliate marketing, in many occasions it doesn’t matter whether the product belongs to a company in HK or elsewhere. Being local is not so important.
Some online marketers or SEO professional may have started doing affiliate marketing. They could have done it for years, and then their popularity has taken off. Once that happens, local Hong Kong companies with products or brands that need to sell their products would approach such marketers and arrange for paid review posting. That is the moment the internet marketer has to decide if he is to take a slight shift in direction for monetization.
One model that is similar to affiliate marketing or review product post is referral program. The slight difference is that with a referral program, you simply have to refer your friends or people who you know to buy the product of the company. The company may have some requirements for who are the qualified customers. For example, only product sold to people in the Hong Kong market will be counted towards your paycheck.
