To receive a DQC or Driver Qualification card, you will not have to pass any tests as it is based on attendance only.
The cost of the training and the DQC are minimal when considering the potential rewards. It is important to note that some employers are willing to cover the costs of this if the driver already has their C or C+E class license. This will make their job position more attractive to potential drivers.
A Flexible Career
Another reason why you should consider this career is the flexibility it offers. If you love driving on the open road, you can apply for long-distance positions. However, if you want to stay closer to home, you can look for regional positions, city or local hauling.
The licensing and the training requirements are relatively low and can be completed fairly easily and quickly. To start training for this career, you will need to have a regular car license. You will then have to get a class 2 or category C license which does require training and the passing of a written test and practical exam. Once you have this license, you need to look at a class 1 or category C+E license for better job prospects.
The length of time this takes will vary depending on the training course you use and the time you have available for this training. The fastest option will be a course where the trainer is dedicated to one-on-one daily training. If you have a job already, you can complete the training part-time on the weekends or when you have the time.
