The ash cloud which has created havoc with airlines this week has also had an impact on those attending the European Business Angels Network Annual Congress in Istanbul. Many have either been left stranded or they are taking the long route back through Northern Europe.

Even celebrity angels like Doug Richard, who is apparently stranded in Kenya, and Peter Jones, who has the misfortune of being stuck in Barbados, are not immune.

This is the first time the event has been held in Turkey having previously taken place in Germany, Italy, France, Portugal the Netherlands and Spain. The event is aimed at bringing European business angels together to build relations and share best practice
