Italy’s Digital Agenda Package opens the way for equity Crowdfunding

Italy’s Digital Agenda Package – passed in December 2012 – opens the way for the FSA or SEC equivalent – Consob – to set out the rules that will allow Italian companies to raise funds via equity crowdfunding.

The package itself is designed to improve the flexibility of startup companies – allowing partners to be paid in equity, simpler hiring and firing laws and a 19% tax deduction for business angel investors (following in the steps of the UK’s 50% tax deduction for Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme).
